Job description

Our client is an established SGX-listed Company in Singapore. They are a well-respected leader within their industry and have solid strategies to steer the business further ahead. In line with their expanding business structure and exciting development plan, a great opportunity has become available for a vibrant and talented professional to join this organization, as the CFO, who can assist the business at a time of rapid growth and make a key contribution to the business.

Business / Management Activity

  • As a business partner to the CEO, assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and company’s long-term strategy.
  • Serve as a member of executive leadership team.

Strategy:

  • As a business partner to the CEO, assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and company’s long-term strategy.
  • Advisor to the CEO regards to Mergers & Acquisitions and Joint Ventures / Franchising driving growth.
  • Fundraising projects and investors relations.
  • Assist in establishing yearly objectives and meeting agendas, and selecting and engaging outside consultants (auditors, investment advisors etc).
  • Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.

Executive Management:

  • Serve as a member of executive leadership team.
  • Participate in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model and operational execution.

 Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Oversee long-term budgetary planning and costs management in alignment with company’s needs and goals.
  • Complete analysis of financial results; develop recommendations (strategic and tactical).
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain regular financial planning reports; Monthly profit and loss forecast analysis.
  • Develop and maintain capital budget.

Accounting and Administration:

  • Manage finance and shared service team involved in the timely and accurate reporting of the SGX and yearly statutory reporting in accordance to FRS and SGX guidelines.
  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns and all other related statutory requirements.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions in the region.
  • Oversee preparation of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements.
  • Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocations.
  • Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audit.

Planning, Policy, and Investor Relations:

  • Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team.
  • Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, foundation executives, auditors, public officials, etc.

Finance:

  • Oversee cash flow planning and fundraising projects.
  • Oversee cash, investment, asset management and all treasury responsibilities.
  • Oversee financing strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships.
  • Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans.

Qualification and Other Requirements

Years of Experience:

  • A minimum of 15 years work experience in a finance management role, preferably with a minimum of 5 years as a CFO in a Singapore listed company 
  • Exposure in Food & Beverages and Retail related business
  • Exposure in China experience is a must

Other Key Personal Characteristics:

  • Excellent leadership, team management & interpersonal skills
  • Strong Analytical & communication skills
  • Very good understanding of the Chinese culture and strong command of Mandarin to handle Mandarin speaking stakeholders

  • Strong business acumen

Education:

  • ACCA, CPA, CA qualified or accountancy degree from a reputable university

Travel Requirements

  • 25%, up to 50% for start
